Top Tips For Preparing To Buy A Home
Buying a home can be a tough task and it’s one that should not be taken lightly. This is the biggest item that most couples ever buy, yet it’s also one item that can easily be affected by emotions. Here are some tips that you should stop and consider before rushing out to buy a home.
- Assess your financial suitability. If you are renting, then compare your rent and the amount you have been saving with the monthly costs of a mortgage – can you afford that mortgage?
- Are you intending to live in that home for several years? If not, the interest paid on a loan will not be recovered when you sell. Stay renting until you are ready to commit to the one home.
- Do you have a great credit history? Credit is becoming harder and lenders are generally only interested in the best clients – those with a good down payment and a good credit history.
- What are your housing special needs? Do you have children, or intend on having children? If so, you will need to look closely at housing in areas with schools of good repute.
- Can you get pre-approval of a mortgage before you start looking? If you can, you will be in the driving seat of any home negotiations, and you will have a firm idea of the price ranges you can look in.
Planning is the key to successfully buying a home. Know what you want, how much you can afford to spend, and preferably where you want to buy makes life a lot easier. You can also approach a buyers real estate with that list and they can start home search process immediately.

Like every profession, there are unethical and selfish Real Estate Agents. On the other hand, there are many that bend over backwards for their clients and work very hard to do what’s in the clients best interest, not their own. I think whoever wrote this article needs to pull their head out of their ass before they ever open their mouth again.
